Welcome to the Teachers Experience STEM @ Tulane!

In-Person June Workshop: Exploring Coding and Robotics with LEGO Spike Prime Essential - Grades 1-4!

STEM Teachers are invited to participate in Tulane's teacher professional development the summer! Thanks to the generosity of Shell and The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, we are offering two 2-day on-campus workshops and one 2-day virtual workshop.

Join the Center for K-12 STEM Education team as we learn and play with the LEGO Spike Prime Essential robots! Expand your coding skills as you learn to use the Spike Prime app and program the Spike Prime Essential robots. You will also learn about the free LEGO curriculum available and how to start a FIRST LEGO League team at your school. 
 
The Robotics Workshop will take place on Tulane's Campus on June 22-23 from 9:30 am-3:00 pm each day. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch. The two-day in-person professional development workshop will total 8-10 hours. The 10-hour PD will be for rookie coaches who want to learn more about FIRST LEGO League Explore, whereas the 8-hour PD is for teachers who want to learn how to use Spike Prime Essential but have coached a FIRST LEGO League Explore team before. 
  
Participating teachers will receive a $100 (8 hours) or $150 (10 hours) stipend upon completion of the PD. Teachers must participate in all parts of the workshop to be eligible for the stipend! Space is limited and preference is given to teachers from majority free or reduced lunch schools and teachers already in the classroom.  There is a $20 refundable deposit that will be refunded to teachers upon completion of the PD.
